Job Description: The ITS & Sustainability Project Manager will assist the Director of Intelligent Transportation Systems in the management of the design and delivery of new ITS/Sustainability projects for the Central Florida Expressway Authority. The position responsibility also includes the management of design specifications and standards, support in identifying new and innovative technology applications for ITS/Sustainability, interagency coordination and presentation support.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Manage the procurement process for new ITS and Sustainability Projects.
• Manage development and update for ITS and Sustainability design standards and specifications.
• Manage Design Consultants during the delivery of new ITS and Sustainability projects.
• Coordinate with General Engineering Consultant for ITS technical support.
• Oversee completion of voltage drop calculations, short circuit analysis and arc flash analysis for ITS and Sustainability projects.
• Support and provide presentations for the ITS Department to the CFX Governing Board of Directors, other agency boards, Technical Committees and at professional conferences as needed.
• Support the continued development and execution of the incident management response plan.
• Assist in the planning and design to support ongoing technology life cycle replacements.
• Assist director in coordination of resolution of traffic operational issues with Regional Traffic Management Centers.
• Other duties as assigned.
Skills
• ITS Design experience required.
• Ability to read and follow detailed drawings and specifications.
• Knowledge of ITS technology: CCTV video, vehicle detection systems, travel time data collection censors and ITS servers the system of dynamic message signs.
• Knowledge of Connected and Automated Vehicle technology
• Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to learn about ITS technology and stay up to date with the latest technology
• Ability to run SunGuide reports.
• Project Management
Requirements: B.S. Degree in engineering or computer science degree with 6-10 years of ITS experience or equivalent compatible years of experience. Degree in Electrical Engineering with an emphasis in the Intelligent Transportation Systems Industry is preferred. High level of computer proficiency required. Registration as P.E. in Florida is preferred but not required.
