Senior Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) Technician

Role Overview:
Metric Engineering is actively seeking an experienced Senior Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) Technician to join our Orlando, FL ITS team. This position would be responsible for troubleshooting and repairing ITS field devices, as well as occasionally providing Integration and Testing support. The successful candidate will have an outgoing personality, ability to work well with others and a focus on client satisfaction.
Day to Day:
Investigate and repair or replace malfunctions of ITS related devices and communications infrastructure as well as electrical power services and low voltage power
Perform preventive maintenance
Inventory existing, new and spare parts
Troubleshoot fiber optic cable, splicing and documentation, etc.
On-call duties are required
What you should bring:
5+ years working as an ITS field technician with increasing levels of responsibility
Experience with the troubleshooting and repair of all the ITS devices and subsystems:
IP addressable CCTV cameras
Microwave Vehicle Detection Sensors
Dynamic Message Signs
Bluetooth Travel Time Readers
Layer 2 field switches
Media converters
Port servers
Transient voltage surge suppression device
Cat 5 cabling and connectors
Fiber optic jumpers
Low voltage transformers
Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook at a minimum
Ability to troubleshoot and configure layer 2 field devices as well as a basic understanding of IP addressing
Bucket truck experience and certification
Valid Driver's License is Required
The following certifications, skills and abilities are desired:
Advanced MOT Certification
IMSA Traffic Signal Inspection Level I
IMSA Traffic Signal Technician Level I and II
Fiber Optic splicing experience and certification from Corning, Light Brigade, or similar.
