Job Title: ITS and Traffic Operations Project Manager
Job Description: Responsible for the leadership and management of a team in support of the project’s profitable operation. Responsible for proactively managing the project's technical budget (direct labor and expenses, including technical sub-consultants), schedule, technical requirements, contractual obligations, project communications and HNTB’s 4 for 4 performance: delivery of quality work, on time, on budget and to the client’s satisfaction on every project. Responsible for gross revenue of <$5M.
Essential Responsibilities:
Responsible for development of the project scope and fee quotation and assists in the preparation of technical proposals and contracts in accordance with HNTB's Sophisticated Contracting Approach (SCA).
Serves as the primary client liaison and manages the project team to deliver the scope, schedule, and budgets to completion and to the client’s satisfaction. Assists with client project scoping and contract negotiations.
Performs technical discipline tasks including analysis, reports, design, specification, and production for assigned projects.
Implements the firm’s project delivery plan using HNTB's Sophisticated Delivery Approach (SDA) on each project. Leads the development and the execution of the project management plan. Supervises and mentors team to overall project objectives.
Performs coordination with managers on project staffing, including, but not limited to; recruitment, development, retention, and succession of project staff; development of plan for project staff reporting; and support for performance and compensation reviews.
Partners with Client Service Leaders and pursuit champions to assist with business development, building client relationships, and pursuit efforts for strategic and mini-mega projects in accordance with HNTB's Sophisticated Sales Approach (SSA).
Works with the project team and marketing resources to prepare appropriate proposal and presentation materials.
Leads proposal development and interview presentations for strategic and mini-mega projects to the client as well as general presentations within the industry and community.
May be responsible for the recruitment, hiring, development, and retention of staff, including development of plan for staff reporting, performance and compensation reviews, and succession.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and 8 years of relevant experience
2 years task management or Deputy PM experience
Primary Focus Will Include:
Coordinates with clients to define work programs and budgets, provide leadership in project planning and strategy including general oversight and planning, project management, project implementation, and ensuring the quality of work products.
Works directly with the client in developing strategies for the program
Manages program budget and spending
Develops work program processes and strategies for the 5-10 year cost feasible plans for ITS, traffic engineering, and traffic safety group
Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) Engineer shall serve as Task Lead in the development of ITS infrastructure, traffic signal, and integration of traffic control systems.
ITS Engineer will be responsible for integrating various data streams and configuring databases to organize and archive data. This position will also assist in managing the fiber-optic traffic signal communications network, CCTV system, and other ITS systems.
Customization of existing systems to leverage data for traffic engineering purposes.
Dashboard development for reporting/tracking ITS assets; GIS-based asset management;
Developing Specifications for the implementation of new systems;
Responsible for preparation and completion of discipline engineering designs that are responsive to project needs.
Coordinates the preparation of design details, plans, and drawings within assigned task areas.
Coordinates design development and/or assists in providing technical direction to the scope of projects; provide senior-level technical expertise on projects associated with conceptual engineering, detailed engineering designs, and preparation of contracts for construction.
Investigative hand and computer-based analyses in support of assigned design tasks.
Reviews and checks engineering work completed by others.
Work closely with other disciplines on multi-discipline projects
Preferred Qualifications and Skills:
PE/PTOE/PMP
Florida project management experience
Proficient with MS Excel, Tableau, and other reporting software
Ability to provide supervision to the staff
Ability to identify and develop work with the client
