Job Title: RTMC Traffic Signal Timing Engineer
Job Description : Primarily responsible for managing and implementing signal and system timing plans through the Sarasota-Manatee Regional Traffic Management Center (RTMC) to improve the regional traffic flow. This position will also coordinate Transportation Systems Management and Operations (TSM&O) and Active Arterial Management functions including Adaptive Traffic Control Systems operations. May assist the RTMC Division Manager and Traffic Systems Engineer with the development of scope, design and operation activities for the Regional Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) and other related special projects.
Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related engineering field. Minimum of five (5) years engineering experience related to Traffic Engineering. Must possess current Florida Professional Engineer (P.E.) License (may consider out-of-state P.E. License, with ability to transfer to Florida within one (1) year of hire date). Minimum of one (1) year as Engineer of Record. Valid driver’s license with valid Florida driver’s license within 30 days of hire. Experience with traffic signal timing development and implementation. Strong working knowledge of traffic signal analysis packages such as, Synchro, Corsim, HCS+, Tru-Traffic. Experience with ATMS.now Central Software, NEMA Traffic Signal Controllers (Naztec 980, 980 ATC), Traffic Management Center Operations, Adaptive Traffic Control Systems desired.
Additional Job Information : A competitive salary within the range of $69k to $108k annually is provided for the position with a negotiable starting salary depending on experience and qualifications. The County also offers a comprehensive benefit package, including negotiable relocation assistance.
